Happy Kiddo
Lots of smiles captured on the camera this time...I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get a smile again on the camera...it seemed like every time I got it out, Jake would stop whatever he was doing & stare in wonder at this funny looking device that Mom's always getting out & flashes bright lights at him. :)
Playing in the Jumperoo...always a good time
Cousin Darlene came to visit and brought Jake this goofy moose hat from Yellowstone - He looks adorable in it, as you can see! Thanks Darlene!
Chillin' out at camp last weekend at Daddy's civil war shoot
Practicing some sitting in the Bumbo seat and playing in the camper at the shoot
This morning after breakfast...yummm...prunes & oatmeal baby cereal!
Jake with his brand new (4 days old!) friend, Arizona Sue King...for once, Jake looks like the giant... Congrats, Sarah & Spencer...and Welcome Arizona!
We worked on finger foods today for the first time, practicing those fine motor skills

Happy Labor Day!
This first picture is from last weekend when Jake's Aunt Amy & Uncle Walt got engaged...we are so excited for them!
Here is Jake - we were just hanging around the house one of my days off last week & he was bored so we went outside to take some pictures. He loves being outside!

On our annual Labor Day camping trip. We were celebrating Jake's friend Jack's 2nd birthday with some cake & Jake got to try some...at first he wasn't sure, but then he gobbled it up!

Hello Again
We've been gone for awhile from the blog, but we're back. Many of you may have guessed we are challenged to adjust to life with Jake & work...but, I just started my first week part-time. I will be working Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays only now....yeah!!! So Jake & I are at home today just enjoying eachother's company. Here are some highlights from the last month. Jake is eating solids 3x/day now - cereal, fruits, and veggies, in addition to still nursing several times a day...so he is porking out! He has doubled his birthweight - he was 14 lb 6 oz Friday at the pediatrician's. We have been battling the worst cold I've ever had here at our house...well, actually, just Jake and Mom...Dad seems to have escaped it so far. Jake is rolling over....he starting doing that a few weeks ago, but still doesn't do it predictably...just when he wants to. He is also doing pretty well at sitting for short periods of time. We recently went camping and have discovered that Jake LOVES to "swim"! Anyway, that's the short of it...hope all of you are doing well. Jake sends his love! :)
Bath time
Working on rolling over
Sitting pretty (usually shortly followed by a tip over these days)

It's been awhile
Sorry it's been so long...Mommy has been a busy girl, trying to keep up with Jake, the house, and work. I know Jake has some loyal followers, so here are a few pictures to tide you over! :)
Happy boy after trying some squash & cereal this past week

Growing Boy!
We have had another crazy week!
Jake had his 4 month immunizations Friday, to which he had sort of a nasty reaction. He was a very tired, grumpy boy with a low-grade fever for 2 days...grumpiness still hasn't cleared yet though. He has been very clingy to Mommy & Daddy as a result. We have gotten a couple smiles here & there though...captured below...
At his appointment Friday, he was 12 pounds 14 ounces (10-25th percentile for kids his age) and 25 inches long (50th percentile...up from 10-15th percentile last time...I KNEW he was getting long!). We have moved him into 6-9 month for the items where length matters (onesies and one-piece outfits).
We tried cereal for the first time last night. He wasn't too sure & pushed most of it back out with his tongue. His tummy was then pretty disturbed all night & this morning...maybe we'll wait a couple weeks & try again. He just wasn't sure what to do with it at all!

More jumperoo fun...he just LOVES this thing!
Very active while he's in it - he just bats his hands & arms all over the place...gets so excited
